Romania benefits from self-regulation in advertising since 1999, when the Romanian Advertising Council was founded.
Currently, RAC is the only body of self-regulation in Romanian recognized by the National Audiovisual Council. Since 2003, the two structures interact under a protocol of cooperation. According to him, RAC and NAC have become partners in resolving complaints relating to advertising.
Annually, around 50 cases reach the attention of the Romanian Advertising Council. Notifications are received from the NAC, companies, institutions or consumers and aime advertising at different products.
